b*list :: laser vision
Remember almost two months ago when I got LASIK (PRK) done on both eyes? Well, I’m back today to give a little update on my vision. Let’s just say, I can SEE, and it’s phenomenal. I like to joke that I now have laser vision, and can look through walls. I’m kidding, of course. But seriously, it’s awesome. Having had glasses or contacts since 1st grade, waking up, opening my eyes, and being able to see across the room (let alone the alarm clock at arm’s reach) is quite amazing.
It took about two and a half weeks before the blurriness went away, which was admittedly a long time. The first week was tough, the second was annoying, but livable. Then, suddenly, things started to become clear. I was laying on the dock with a friend, when I realized that I could read a sign on a boat a good distance away. I sat up, looked again, and freaked out. SEEING with my own two eyes is thrilling. Honestly. Every night I catch myself thinking that I need to take my contacts out.
I’ve had a bit of dryness, but nothing that can’t be fixed with lubricating drops. Otherwise, no side effects, and better than 20/20 vision! So, if you’re considering LASIK or PRK, go for it. GO.FOR.IT. You won’t regret it!! The procedure is virtually painless. Recovery (for PRK) is annoying, but worth it. The results–fantastic.
And I can now officially cross off one thing on the b*list. Yeah, about that. I need to get busy, hey? More updates on that list to come, hopefully soon.

This is great to read! I have been seriously considering Lasik these past few months. I have noticed that my vision has just been degrading over the past few years, and am just sick of the wasted funds in RX glasses that only last a year-to two tops!
So Happy for you Beth!!! Glad you finally did it!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE having my eyes good since I had Lasik done years ago!!!! It was fast, painless and easy!!!! I had a tiny bit of discomfort, feeling of sand in the eyes… but went home after the procedure and took a nap, woke up and felt totally fine from then on. Only had to be careful not to rub my eyes til they healed!! Sometimes at night while driving I get a bit of glare from lights/signs reflecting and its worse if its rainy but not too bad. My vision was better then 20/20 when first done also, though it may have regressed some, I haven’t had it checked:) I would definitely recommend it to anyone!!!! Why wait!
