For starters, I'd like to welcome you to my blog! Come on in and make yourself comfortable. Launched in fall of 2008, b*spoke blog features an ever-changing array of posts on design, home, faith, fashion, photography, business, life and love, authored by yours truly, Bethany Hway.

A little bit more about me... I grew up in the woods of northern Minnesota, where I developed a healthy taste for adventure and a fondness for roaming. In 2006, I graduated from Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN with a BFA in Graphic Design, and a minor in Bible. In 2010, I left my graphic design day job for the exciting world of full-time business ownership, jumping into the role of designer, art director and project manager of b*spoke studio. Today I make my home in a small town on the outskirts of a big city (Minneapolis), where I live and work as a designer and blogger, spending my days specializing in branding and blog design. "Home" is a brick Cape Cod that I share with my husband and my yellow lab, Emmy. My ideal day includes sleeping in, pancakes, sunshine, flip-flops, and an afternoon on the lake under a hot summer sun. I am a compulsive list-maker, and if I could go anywhere in the world right now, I would head to Hawaii and learn to surf. My favorite color is gray, and yes, I consider gray to be a color. I am passionate about creativity, art and design, and my style is clean, airy, natural, simple, uncluttered, light, loose, organized, textured, layered and open. I don't know any foreign languages, and numbers confuse me. I would rather have my hair in a ponytail than spend 15 extra minutes in the front of the mirror. When I find a song I like, I will listen to it on repeat for two days straight (at least). I value honesty and authenticity. And to be honest, I don't care for mustard. The most important people in my life are my husband and parents. I have a small, close circle of friends, with whom I share a love for God, good food and the humor of Brian Regan (in that order). I am a sinner saved by grace. I live to worship God, and would rather be in the center of His will than anywhere else. I need to work on being more patient, humble and kind.
